SCHEDULE / WEATHER / DETOURS

Arrive on time, our visit begins at 11:00 AM on the dot, we will appreciate if you show up 15 minutes in advance. Tour ends at 2:30 PM.

The duration of our tour is approximately 3.5 hours, rain or shine, depending on the size of the group, maximum 6. In case of rain, our tour will make its best to spend as much time as possible indoors. In case of unforseen closure of streets or venues, we are always prepared with an equivalent or alternate route.

THE TOUR

On this tour you will discover the millennia old Mexican cuisine and how it has come to rule over our daily modern fare in an exclusive group of six people maximum. The most important elements in Mexican cuisine are those that Mexico has gifted the world with. Most of them end in "te" in Spanish, like elote (corn), tomate (tomato), aguacate (avocado), guajolote (turkey) and chocolate (chocolate). Others have Spanish given names like vainilla (vanilla), calabacita (squash) and frijoles (beans). And of course, the ever-present chiles (chili peppers).  What would food be like today without these magnificent ingredients? These foods are the spinal cord of the tour in which we will visit more than a dozen venues to see and try how the local foods have mixed with their European, African and Asian cousins. We sit down for food or drinks at five different places, first for a full-service  breakfast, then for some salty treats, then for some sweet treats, afterwards for local drinks and finally at a full-service top restaurant for a full, authentic traditional lunch. The many different places visited go from a true nixtamal Tortilla Factory to Mexico's top renowned,award-winning chocolatier.  Tacos and Tequila?, of course thay are also included!
